Secretaría de Economía
The Secretaría de Economía (SE) is the “economic secretariat (of the government)” in Mexico , comparable to a ministry of economics .
In 1917 the “Secretariat for Industry, Trade and Labor” ( Secretaría de Industria, Comercio y Trabajo ) was founded. The political body was renamed in 1932 to the "Secretariat for National Economy" ( Secretaría de la Economía Nacional ). Between 1946 and 1958 the secretariat had the current name, which it has been using again since 2000. In the meantime it was called Secretaría de Industria y Comercio from 1958 to 1976 , then until 1982 Secretaría de Comercio and until 2000 “Secretariat for Trade and Industry Promotion ” ( Secretaría de Comercio y Fomento Industrial - SECOFI ).
The Secretaría de Economía is divided into the four sub-secretariats for "Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises" ( Pequeña y Mediana Empresa ), "Standardization, Foreign Investment and International Commercial Practice" ( Normatividad, Inversión Extranjera y Prácticas Comerciales Internacionales ), "Industry and Commerce" and " International Trade Agreements "( Negociaciones Comerciales Internacionales ), also in the Secretariado Técnico de Planificación, Comunicación y Enlace for planning, communication and connection technologies as well as the General Coordination Office for Mining ( Coordinación General de Minería ).

The office of a “secretario” / a “secretaria” of the government in Mexico is comparable to that of a minister in a state government.
