The Secretaría de Salud (SALUD) is the political "secretariat (government) for health" in Mexico , comparable to a health ministry .

It was in 1938 as "Secretariat for Social Welfare " ( Secretaria de Asistencia Social founded), reclassified in 1940 and renamed the "Secretariat for wholesomeness and care" ( Secretaría de Salubridad y Asistencia ) and got its present name since 1,982th

The central building of the SSA was completed by the Mexican architect Carlos Obregón Santacilia in 1925.
