Besar Halimi (born December 12, 1994 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a Kosovar - German football player . He is under contract with SV Sandhausen . Halimi completed three international matches for German youth national teams and has been a Kosovar national team player since 2015.

Career

The son of Kosovar parents grew up in Frankfurt am Main and began playing football at Eintracht Frankfurt in 2000 . In 2007 he moved to SV Darmstadt 98 , two years later to 1. FC Nürnberg , whose youth boarding school he attended. In the second half of the 2011/12 season, he completed two missions for the second team from Nuremberg in the Regionalliga Süd . He was used in the following season in the Regionalliga Bayern in 17 other league games for FCN II and scored one goal.

On July 12, 2013 Halimi switched to the second team of VfB Stuttgart and made his professional debut on September 21, 2013 on the 10th match day of the 2013/14 season in the 3rd professional league against FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt . In the 2014/15 season he moved to the Stuttgarter Kickers . In one season he scored two goals in 37 games for Kickers and was named Player of the Month in November 2014 .

For the 2015/16 season he joined the Bundesliga team 1. FSV Mainz 05 until 2019 and was awarded to the second division team FSV Frankfurt until the end of the 2015/16 season . In the 2016/17 season he played for the second team of Mainz 05 in the 3rd division. The season 2017/18 played Halimi loan at Brøndby IF and won the National Cup . He then initially returned to Mainz 05. He finally signed a two-year contract with Brøndby IF at the end of August 2018.

This was dissolved in September 2019; Halimi then signed a two-year contract with the German second division club SV Sandhausen .

National teams

In 2011 and 2012, Halimi played a total of three times for the German U18 and U19 national teams .

He has been a Kosovar national team player since 2015 . After the Kosovar Football Association was admitted as a member by UEFA in May 2016 and shortly afterwards by FIFA, it completed its official 2-0 win in a friendly against the Faroe Islands on June 3, 2016 in its native Frankfurt am Main Debut for the Kosovar national team.
