Ivan Paurević (born July 1, 1991 in Essen ) is a German-Croatian soccer player . The midfielder was trained at Borussia Dortmund and is a multiple Croatian junior national player. He is mainly used as a six , after having been more offensive at the beginning of his career.

career

In the club

Paurević played for Rot-Weiss Essen until 2004 , before moving to Borussia Dortmund in the C-Youth . There he was later used in the U-17 and U-19 Bundesliga and was in the final of the German B youth championship in 2007 and 2008 . Both finals were lost, however. During his last youth season, Paurević was then taken to the first professional team's training camp during the winter break of the 2009/10 season , but had to leave it prematurely after suffering a fracture of the nose . After that, he continued to play mainly for the A-youth team of BVB, but also made his senior league debut on February 7, 2010. He was substituted on for Sebastian Hille shortly before the end of the third division game of Dortmund's second representation against Kickers Offenbach , which was won 2-1 .

2010/11 Paurević was then permanently taken over in the Dortmund second team, which had meanwhile been relegated and competed in the Regionalliga West . There, however, he only came to his first appearances in the middle of the season and from then on shuttled between a place in the starting lineup and the bench. With his team he reached sixth place in the table this season, but had no chance early on in terms of promotion.

In the 2011/12 season he developed into a regular force, which his coach David Wagner attributed to the fact that Paurević "got involved in the defensive" after it had been made clear that he only has a perspective in professional football in the defensive midfield position.

Thus Fortuna Dusseldorf attention to Paurevic and took him to the 2012/13 season until the summer of 2014 under contract. Paurević then signed a three-year contract with Russian first division club FK Ufa in July 2014, which was terminated prematurely in summer 2016 in favor of a move to Huddersfield Town . After just one league game, Paurević returned to Ufa in early 2017. The midfielder has played for the club more than 130 times in the league, in the cup and in the Europa League qualification .

For the 2019/20 second division season , the Croatian was awarded a two-year contract by SV Sandhausen .

In the national team

Paurević played his first game for a youth national team on September 15, 2009 in a friendly game for the Croatian U19 team against the Slovenes of the same age. In the goalless draw, he was on the field in the second half. In 2011, two appearances for the U21 national team followed in qualifying for the U21 European Championship 2013 .
