Philipp Heerwagen (born April 13, 1983 in Kelheim ) is a German football goalkeeper .
Career
Heerwagen started playing football in 1989 in the F-Jugend of SpVgg Unterhaching and became - because no one else wanted to stand in goal during training and he performed well - the team's goalkeeper. In 1997 he moved to the C youth department of FC Bayern Munich and returned to SpVgg Unterhaching in August 2001. In the following season he became the goalkeeper of the Unterhaching team playing in the Regionalliga Süd . He made his debut on August 3, 2002 (3rd match day) in a 2-2 draw at home against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim . At the end of the season, with 34 goals conceded, he allowed the second fewest, became regional league champion in 2003 and was promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga . In this he made his debut on August 3, 2003 (1st matchday) in a 4-2 win in the away game against SpVgg Greuther Fürth .
After three more seasons (during the winter break of the 2006/07 awarded him "kicker" the title of "Outstanding") and the relegation to the Regionalliga Süd he left the SpVgg Unterhaching and changed for the season 2007/08 for Bundesliga club VfL Bochum . For this he came only in the following season on December 13, 2008 (17th matchday) in the 1: 2 defeat in the home game against 1. FC Cologne to his Bundesliga debut . In the 2009/10 season he became VfL's first goalkeeper, which is why he prematurely extended his contract in Bochum by three years in early January 2010. Since relegation in 2010 he was still active for VfL Bochum in the 2nd Bundesliga .
In January 2012 Heerwagen was up to the end of the season FC St. Pauli on loan to where the injured goalkeeper Philipp Tschauner to replace, but it was no use and returned for the season 2012/13 for VfL Bochum back. After he only made seven appearances in Bochum in the 2012/13 season, his expiring contract was no longer extended. He kept himself fit in the VDV camp for unemployed football professionals and returned to FC St. Pauli on September 9, 2013, for whom he played on April 17, 2014 (31st match day), in a 1-1 draw in the away game against Energie Cottbus , debuted.
After he had not played in the first or second team in the preseason, apart from two appearances in the DFB-Pokal 2017/18 , Heerwagen switched to FC Ingolstadt 04 for the third matchday of the current second division season 2018/19 , where he signed a contract that was valid until the end of the season and relegated to the 3rd division with the team at the end of the season.
Heerwagen has been under contract with SV Sandhausen since July 2019 . The contract has a term of two years.
