Martin Fraisl (born May 10, 1993 ) is an Austrian football goalkeeper . He has been under contract with German second division club SV Sandhausen since the 2019/20 season .
Career
Fraisl started his career at SU Wolfsbach. After playing at USC Seitenstetten and SV Sierning, he moved to the Vienna Sports Club in 2013 . In 2014 he moved to Bundesliga club SC Wiener Neustadt , but stayed with the sports club for another year. After the loan ended, however, the Lower Austrians were relegated to the second division. He made his professional debut on the 1st matchday 2015/16 against SC Austria Lustenau . In January 2016 he switched to league rivals Floridsdorfer AC . He signed a contract until the end of the season.
In May 2018, the goalkeeper scored his first goal in the second highest division when he scored the 3: 3 final score on matchday 34 of the 2017/18 season against Kapfenberger SV in stoppage time.
After the 2017/18 season he left the FAC and took part in the VdF camp . In July 2018 he moved to Romania to the first division club FC Botoșani and finished eighth with the club at the end of the season.
For the 2019/20 season , the German second division club SV Sandhausen , with whom he received a contract that runs until June 2022, secured the services of the goalkeeper. At Sandhausen he was able to prevail promptly and did not miss a single game of the season. Only on the last matchday did he miss his only minute of the season when he was replaced by Rick Wulle in the 89th minute against Hamburger SV , so that he could still play a season.
Private
Like his personal role model, the ski racer Hermann Maier , Fraisl skied for a long time himself and came to football quite late at the age of 16. He has successfully passed his Matura exams and is studying sports management alongside his work as a professional footballer .
