Association of Footballers

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Association of Footballers , or VdF for short , represents the interests of all amateur and professional footballers working in Austria . Among other things, the VdF devotes itself to advising its members on legal matters and, if necessary, provides a lawyer free of charge. It was founded in May 1988 as a football specialist group in what was then the Union for Art, Media and Liberal Professions (KMfB) . The VdF is mainly perceived by the public due to the award of the Brunos , an important Austrian football prize named after Bruno Pezzey . Since the merger of the union of community workers (GdG) and the KMSfB, the VdF is based in the Younion .

Camps for footballers without a contract

The VdF has been organizing summer camps for football players without a contract since 2014. The aim of the camps is to offer the players a training program that enables them to return to professional activity at any time. Well-known football coaches and goalkeeping coaches act as coaches. In 2015, in addition to the camp, an international tournament was held against players from other nations without a contract. The Austrian selection failed after two wins against the finalist Spain. In 2016, a four-nation tournament with Germany, Switzerland and Hungary will take place in Draßburg .

As part of the camp, players are also offered professional career advice for a career after football.
