Salamon began his career at FK Austria Wien . He was at the Frank Stronach Academy in Hollabrunn and graduated from there. In 2007 he joined the amateur team of "Veilchen", as some fans also call their football club Austria Wien, where he made his debut in the 2006/07 season. In the 2007/08 season he was a regular for the amateurs. After the first team of Austria was looking for a substitute goalkeeper for Szabolcs Sáfár , Robert Almer , then substitute goalkeeper for Mattersburg, was swapped for Salamon. In the 2008/09 season Salamon came to his first Bundesliga appearance when he was substituted on for Thomas Wagner on July 9, 2008 on the first match day against FC Red Bull Salzburg during the break . The Burgenland lost the game 0: 6. In the summer of 2011 Salamon was awarded to first division club SV Grödig .

In the winter break 2013/14 he moved back to Austria. After the 2018/19 season he left Austria and switched to the second division club SV Horn . After 13 appearances in the second division for the Lower Austrians, he moved to Sūduva Marijampolė in Lithuania in January 2020 , where he received a contract that ran until December 2021.

Salamon played three games for the U-19 national team.
