Thomas Wagner (born October 9, 1976 in Fürstenfeld ) is an Austrian football player.

Career

Wagner's first club was SV Rohrbrunn, where he played in the youth team with SV Deutsch Kaltenbrunn with a one-year break.

After the end of his youth career, the trained office clerk moved to TSV Hartberg , where he only stayed for half a season and returned to SV Rohrbrunn. His next club was SV Stegersbach , from which it went back to SV Rohrbrunn. In 1998 Wagner moved to SV Neuberg , where he had his breakthrough. Among other things, he won the trophy of the most successful goalscorer at the BFV Hallenmasters in 2000 with five hits. As a result, SV Mattersburg became aware of him and signed him for the professional team.

With SV Mattersburg, Wagner was promoted to the Austrian Bundesliga . On July 26, 2003, Wagner made his debut in the highest Austrian league against SK Sturm Graz , in which he scored his first Bundesliga goal. His greatest success was reaching the cup final in 2006. Wagner was one of the regular players in Burgenland and had played over 200 games for Mattersburg.

On May 13, 2010 Thomas Wagner ended his professional career as a football player in the home game against SK Rapid Wien (1: 3) wearing SV Mattersburg.
