Edvin Hodžić , often also Edvin Hodzic , (born November 29, 1994 in Linz ; † July 10, 2018 ) was an Austrian football player .
Career
Hodžić started his career at LASK . In 2010 he moved to regional league club FC Pasching and in 2012 to league competitor SV Wallern . After 20 games for Wallern, he went to the Regionalliga Ost for SC Ritzing in the summer of 2013 .
For the 2014/15 season he joined the Upper Austrian regional league club ATSV Stadl-Paura and was promoted to the regional league at the end of the season . In summer 2016 he moved to league competitor SK Austria Klagenfurt .
In January 2017 Hodžić moved to the second division club Kapfenberger SV , with whom he received a contract that ran until June 2017. In March 2017, he made his debut in the second division when he came on as a substitute for Daniel Geissler on matchday 22 of the 2016/17 season against SC Austria Lustenau in stoppage time . After the 2016/17 season he left Kapfenberg and returned to ATSV Stadl-Paura in September 2017. He left Stadl-Paura during the winter break of the 2017/18 season.
For the 2018/19 season he moved to Germany to the regional division SV Schalding-Heining . However, there was no longer a competitive game for the club: On July 10, 2018, Hodžić died at the age of 23.
Personal
His twin brother Edin is also a soccer player and has played over 50 regional league games for Stadl-Paura and Grieskirchen .
His family has Bosnian roots.
