Robert Degos

Robert Degos (born November 8, 1904 in Mugron , † May 3, 1987 in Paris ) was a French dermatologist .

In 1927 he began his specialist training in Paris and was initially at the Hopital Broca and from 1931 at the Hopital Saint-Louis, where he turned to dermatology under Gaston Milian and Henri Gougerot . In 1951 he became head of dermatology there.

In 1964 he was elected a member of the Leopoldina .

Various skin diseases are named after him ( Degos syndrome , Erythrokeratoderma en cocardes Degos , Dowling Degos disease ). He wrote a standard French work on dermatology.

He is the father of Laurent Degos .
