Mugron is a French commune in the department of land in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . It is located in the extreme south of the department and has 1,382 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017). The municipality is part of the canton of Coteau de Chalosse (until 2015: canton of Mugron ) within the arrondissement of Dax .

geography

Mugron is located about 28 kilometers east-northeast of Dax in the Chalosse landscape between the Adour and Louts rivers, some of which form the northern and southern municipal boundaries. Mugron is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Gouts in the north and north-west, Souprosse in the north and north-east, Nerbis in the east, Hauriet in the east and south-east, Saint-Aubin in the south and south-east, Lahosse in the south-west, Lourquen in the west and south-west and Laurède .
