Attractions
Parish Church of Saint-Jacques
The church consecrated to James the Elder has been inscribed as a Monument historique since December 3, 2004 . Your building has the usual east-facing and has a choir in a semicircular apse and a nave with three naves with a length of two yokes . The bell tower in the west, equipped with a defensive function, dates from the 14th century. The south aisle was built in the 16th century, the north aisle and the vault of the nave date from the 17th century. The 17th century entrance is richly decorated. The brothers Bernard Virgile and Jacques Antoine Mazzetti from Avignon created a large part of the church's furnishings in the second half of the 18th century . The main and two side altars made of multicolored marble , dedicated to Mary and the Archangel Michael , come from them. The oil painting of the reredos of the main altar shows the patron saint of the church, St. James the Elder, which was created at the same time as the altar.
House Peyne
It was built at the beginning of the 17th century and has been inscribed as a Monument historique since July 7, 1987 . Its facade, roofs and interior are still in their original condition. This includes the stairs in the anteroom, the door frames, tiles, chimneys and the wood paneling in the dining room. The house is privately owned and is not open to the public.
Taule Castle
Laurède was until 1789 the barony connected by Auribat. Many local seigneurs have lived in the castle over the centuries . The current appearance is the result of extensive renovations that covered the original building. It shows the characteristics of a restoration between the 19th and 20th centuries. The inconsistency of the architecture is reflected in the three towers on one side of the building. Two round towers frame an entrance porch, which is surmounted by a slightly recessed, square tower. The castle and an outbuilding are now rented out as holiday apartments.
