Castets is a French commune with 2,388 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of land in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine ; it belongs to the Arrondissement of Dax and the canton of Côte d'Argent .
geography
The community is located around eleven kilometers southwest of Bordeaux and 56 kilometers northeast of Biarritz in the Forêt des Landes . Neighboring communities are:
- Lesperon in the northeast,
- Taller in the east,
- Gourbera in the southeast,
- Herm in the south,
- Magesc and Léon in the southwest,
- Saint-Michel-Escalus to the west and
- Linxe in the northwest.
The municipality is drained by the Ruisseau de la Palue brook and its tributaries to the Atlantic coast ( Bay of Biscay ), which is only about 20 kilometers away. Castets is on the A63 autoroute that runs from Bordeaux via Biarritz to the border with Spain . The place is bypassed by the motorway in the east.
