Saint-Geours-de-Maremne ( Occitan : Sent-Jors de Maremne ) is a French municipality with 2673 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of land in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Dax and the canton of Marensin-Sud (until 2015: canton of Soustons ).
geography
Saint-Geours-de-Maremne is about 14 kilometers west of Dax . The Adour River forms the southeastern municipal boundary. Saint-Geours-de-Maremne is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Magescq in the north, Rivière-Saas-et-Gourby and Saubusse in the east and south-east, Orist in the south-east, Josse in the south, Saint-Vincent-de-Tyrosse in the south-west, Tosse in the West as well as Soustons to the northwest.
The Autoroute A63 , the former Route nationale 124 (today D824) and the former Route nationale 10 (today D810) lead through the municipality . The municipality's train station is on the Bordeaux – Irun railway line .
