Yzosse is a French municipality with 367 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the Landes department in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . It belongs to the Arrondissement Dax and is a member of the Grand Dax community association . The residents call themselves Yzossais .
geography
Yzosse is located in the Marensin landscape on the edge of the vast Landes de Gascogne , the largest forest area in Western Europe, immediately east of Dax and about 35 kilometers east of Capbreton and the Atlantic coast. The Adour River forms the north-western boundary of the municipality.
Yzosse's neighboring communities are Saint-Vincent-de-Paul in the north, Candresse in the east, Narrosse in the south, Dax in the west and Saint-Paul-lès-Dax in the northwest.
The districts of Lacrouzade, Lanotte, Coudisclat, Piquegru, Lagrange, Houdi, Tauzia, Castaing and Fourrou belong to Yzosse .
The 5.32 km² large municipal area consists of arable, traffic and residential areas. In the north there are forest areas, mostly consisting of pine trees. Since the 1960s, Yzosse has developed into an urban suburb of Dax.
history
When the municipalities in the Landes department were formed in 1793, the municipality was initially called Isosse , from 1801 Izosse and shortly afterwards Yzosse .

Attractions
The parish church of Saint-Pierre is kept very simple. The square bell tower is covered with a slate roof. The nave with a semicircular apse has a tiled roof.
Economy and Infrastructure
19 farms are located in the community (cereal and vegetable growing, dairy farming, horse and poultry breeding, pig farming).
Yzosse is on the D32 trunk road from Dax to Saint-Sever . Dax train station is five kilometers from Yzosse.
