Sorde-l'Abbaye ( Occitan : Sorda l'Abadia ) is a French municipality with 631 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of land in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Aquitaine ) in southwestern France. It belongs to the Arrondissement of Dax and the canton of Orthe et Arrigans (until 2015: canton of Peyrehorade ). The inhabitants are called Sordais or Sordians .

Sorde-l'Abbaye is located around 33 kilometers east-northeast of Bayonne on the Gave d'Oloron . Neighboring municipalities of Sorde-l'Abbaye are Cauneille in the north, Labatut in the northeast, Saint-Cricq-du-Gave and Lahontan in the east, Carresse-Cassaber in the south and southeast, Saint-Pé-de-Léren and Léren in the south, Came in the Southwest and Oeyregave to the west.
The community is on the Via Turonensis , a variant of the Camino de Santiago .
