The Arrondissement Dax is an administrative district in the department of land in the French region Nouvelle-Aquitaine .
history
On March 4, 1790, with the establishment of the Landes department, a Dax district was also founded, parts of which corresponded to today's arrondissement. On February 17, 1800, the arrondissement was founded from it.
With the dissolution of the Arrondissement Saint-Sever on September 10, 1926, four cantons were added to the Arrondissement Dax.

geography
The arrondissement borders in the north and east on the arrondissement Mont-de-Marsan , in the south on the arrondissements Pau and Bayonne in the department Pyrénées-Atlantiques and in the west on the Bay of Biscay .
