As a result of the reorganization of the arrondissements in 2017, the area of ​​the three municipalities of Chouppes , Coussay and La Puye and the area of ​​the former municipality of Beaumont were assigned to the arrondissement Poitiers from the arrondissement of Châtellerault .

Instead, the area of ​​the municipality of Angles-sur-l'Anglin changed from the Arrondissement of Montmorillon to the Arrondissement of Châtellerault.
