Vellèches is a French municipality with 363 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Vienne in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016 Poitou-Charentes ); it belongs to the arrondissement of Châtellerault and the canton of Châtellerault-2 (until 2015 canton of Saint-Gervais-les-Trois-Clochers ).

Vellèches is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Antogny-le-Tillac in the north and northeast, Dangé-Saint-Romain in the east, Vaux-sur-Vienne in the southeast, Antran and Usseau in the south, Leigné-sur-Usseau in the southwest, Mondion in the west as well Marigny-Marmande in the north-west.
