Sossais is a French municipality with 438 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Vienne in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016 Poitou-Charentes ); it belongs to the arrondissement of Châtellerault and the canton of Châtellerault-2 (until 2015 Lencloître ).

Sossais is about twelve kilometers west-northwest of Châtellerault . Sossais is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Christophe in the north and north-west, Saint-Gervais-les-Trois-Clochers in the north, Thuré in the east, Saint-Genest-d'Ambière in the south, Orches in the west and Sérigny in the north-west.
