Saint-Laon is located about 58 kilometers north-northwest of Châtellerault on the Canal de la Dive . Saint-Laon is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Ranton and Glénouze in the north, Mouterre-Silly in the northeast, Arçay in the south and east, Oiron in the west and southwest and Pas-de-Jeu in the west.
