Ranton is a French village with 193 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Vienne in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016 Poitou-Charentes ); it belongs to the arrondissement of Châtellerault and the canton of Loudun (until 2015 Les Trois-Moutiers ).

Ranton is located about 53 kilometers north-northwest of Poitiers on the Canal de la Dive . Neighboring municipalities of Ranton are Curçay-sur-Dive in the north and west, Glénouze in the east and northeast, Saint-Laon in the southeast and Pas-de-Jeu in the south.
