Bass is a French municipality with 323 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Vienne in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016 Poitou-Charentes ); it belongs to the arrondissement of Châtellerault and the canton of Loudun . The inhabitants are called Bassésiens .

geography

Basses is about 44 kilometers northwest of Châtellerault . The Négron River runs along the eastern municipal boundary . Basses is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Vézières in the north and northeast, Sammarçolles in the east, Loudun in the south and west and Bournand in the north-west.
