Chouppes is a French commune of 750 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the department of Vienne in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine ; it belongs to the Arrondissement of Poitiers and the canton of Loudun (until 2015: canton of Monts-sur-Guesnes ). The inhabitants are called Chouppois .

geography

Chouppes is located about 29 kilometers north-northwest of Poitiers on the Sauves River . This is also where the Envigne rises . Chouppes is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Saint-Jean-de-Sauves in the north and north-west, Verrue in the north, Coussay in the north and north-east, Doussay in the north-east, Thurageau in the east and south-east, Mirebeau in the south and south-east, Amberre in the south, Cuhon in the Southwest and Mazeuil to the west and southwest.
