Biard is a French village with 1,751 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Vienne in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Poitiers and the canton of Poitiers-1 (until 2015: canton of Poitiers-6 ). The inhabitants are called Biardais .

geography

Biard is about three kilometers west of the city center of Poitiers on the Boivre , which forms the southern municipal boundary. Biard is surrounded by the neighboring communities Vouneuil-sous-Biard in the north, south and west and Poitiers in the east.

Poitiers-Biard Airport is located in the municipality and the Autoroute A10 and Route nationale 10 run through the municipality .
