Chiré-en-Montreuil is a French village with 912 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Vienne in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Poitou-Charentes ); it belongs to the arrondissement of Poitiers and the canton of Vouneuil-sous-Biard (until 2015: canton of Vouillé ). The inhabitants are called Chiréens .

Chiré-en-Montreuil is located about 19 kilometers west-northwest of the city center of Poitiers on the Auxance river and its tributary Vendelogne . Chiré-en-Montreuil is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Maillé in the north and north-west, Frozes in the north, Vouillé in the east, Montreuil-Bonnin in the south and south-east, Latillé in the west and south-west and Ayron in the west and north-west.
