La Puye is a French village with 606 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Vienne in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016 Poitou-Charentes ); it belongs to the Arrondissement of Poitiers and the canton of Montmorillon (until 2015 Pleumartin ). The inhabitants are called podiums .

La Puye is located about 25 kilometers southeast of Châtellerault and about 31 kilometers east-northeast of Poitiers . La Puye is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Archigny in the north and west, Saint-Pierre-de-Maillé in the east and northeast, La Bussière in the east, Paizay-le-Sec in the south, Lauthiers in the south-west and Sainte-Radégonde in the west and south-west.
