Nieuil-l'Espoir is located about thirteen kilometers southeast of Poitiers on the Miosson River . Nieuil-l'Espoir is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Savigny-Lévescault in the north and northeast, Fleuré in the east, Vernon in the south and southeast, Gizay in the south and southwest, La Villedieu-du-Clain in the southwest, Nouaillé-Maupertuis in the west and northwest and Mignaloux-Beauvoir in the northwest.
The national route 147 runs through the municipality .
