Reorganization of the arrondissements in 2017
As a result of the reorganization of the arrondissements in 2017, the area of the three municipalities of Chouppes , Coussay and La Puye and the area of the former municipality of Beaumont from the arrondissement of Châtellerault and the area of the two municipalities of Chauvigny and Sainte-Radégonde from the arrondissement of Montmorillon were assigned to the arrondissement Poitiers .
