route

Over the years there have been several complete changes to the route, whereby the results are only partially comparable due to regular minor changes.

1993-2003

Start in front of the Eggenberg Palace Park , through the city center of Graz and north to the finish via Herrengasse on Graz main square .

2004-2014

Round course with start and finish at Joanneumring in front of the opera house through the city center, which the half marathon runners master once and the marathon runners twice, whereby the respective laps are not the same. The previous course records for women in the marathon (2:32:12 h) and half marathon (1:12:44 h) were run on this course in 2011.

2015-2016

Based on the years before, but with more tourist attractions such as Schloßberg , the Kunsthaus Graz and the Murinsel .

Since 2017

The route has been changed insofar as the two laps are now approximately the same. The northernmost point is still near the Graz Sports Center , the southernmost point is now the Merkur-Arena . The previous course records for men in the marathon (2:11:10 h) and half marathon (1:03:49 h) were run on this course in 2018.
