Sabine Reiner (born August 2, 1981 in Dornbirn ) is an Austrian long-distance runner and national marathon champion (2011).

Life

In her youth, Sabine Reiner was active in gymnastics and fistball and only began long-distance running at the age of 29.
She studied business administration at the Vienna University of Economics and Business .

State champion marathon 2011

In September 2011 she finished the Wachau half marathon as the best Austrian and best European. She set a new Vorarlberg record and improved Petra Summer's record from 2006 by exactly four minutes.
At her first start on the marathon distance in October 2011, she was able to undercut the Vorarlberg state record by over nine minutes and was runner-up behind Susanne Pumper . In the course of the retroactive disqualification of Pumper in April 2013, Reiner was awarded the 2011 national title.

Vice-World Champion Mountain Run 2012

In September 2012 she finished fifth at the World Mountain Running Championships in Italy. At the long distance mountain running world championships, she won the silver medal just a week later in Interlaken.

In November 2012, Sabine Reiner was nominated for the track and field athlete of the year. She starts for the Hellblau Power Team Koblach .

Their son Valentin was born in July 2017.
