Lavausseau is a commune Déléguée in the French community Boivre-la-Vallée with 770 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Vienne in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Poitou-Charentes ). The inhabitants are called Lavausséens .

On January 1, 2019, the Lavausseau municipality merged with La Chapelle-Montreuil , Benassay and Montreuil-Bonnin to form the Commune nouvelle Boivre-la-Vallée. Since then it has had the status of a Commune déléguée. The municipality of Lavausseau was part of the Arrondissement of Poitiers and the canton of Vouneuil-sous-Biard (until 2015: canton of Vouillé ).

geography

Lavausseau is located about 20 kilometers west-northwest of Poitiers on the Boivre . Lavausseau is surrounded by the villages of Latillé in the north, Montreuil-Bonnin in the east, La Chapelle-Montreuil in the east and south-east, Jazeneuil in the south, Curzay-sur-Vonne in the south-west and Benassay in the west.

The national route 149 runs through the municipality .
