The Canton Poitiers-5 is a French constituency in Arrondissement of Poitiers , in Vienne, and in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaines . Its main town is Poitiers . Jean-Pierre Jarry ( DVD ) has been a representative in the General Council of the Département since 1994 (last re-elected in 2008 ).

Until the nationwide reorganization of the French cantons in March 2015, the five municipalities of Croutelle , Fontaine-le-Comte , Ligugé , Poitiers and Vouneuil-sous-Biard belonged to the canton of Poitiers-5 . Before 2015 it had a different INSEE code than it does today, namely 8635.
