The Canton Poitiers-1 is a French constituency in Arrondissement of Poitiers , in Vienne, and in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . Its main town is Poitiers . Maurice Monange ( PS ) has been a representative in the General Council of the Département since 1976 (last re-elected in 2008 ).

Until the nationwide reorganization of the French cantons in March 2015, the two municipalities of Migné-Auxances and Poitiers belonged to the canton of Poitiers-1 . Before 2015 it had a different INSEE code than it does today, namely 8621.
