Vernon is a French commune in the department of Vienne in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . It has 704 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) and belongs to the Arrondissement of Poitiers and the canton of Vivonne (until 2015: canton of La Villedieu-du-Clain ). The inhabitants are called Vernonais .

geography

Vernon is about 18 kilometers southeast of Poitiers . The Miosson flows through the municipality . Vernon is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Nieuil-l'Espoir in the north, Fleuré in the northeast, Dienne in the east, Saint-Laurent-de-Jourdes in the southeast, Saint-Maurice-la-Clouère in the south and Gizay in the west.
