Blaslay is a village and a former French community with 539 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Vienne in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . It belonged to the Arrondissement of Poitiers and the canton of Migné-Auxances (until 2015: Canton of Neuville-de-Poitou ). The inhabitants are called Blaslaysiens .

With effect from January 1, 2017, the former municipalities of Vendeuvre-du-Poitou , Charrais , Cheneché and Blaslay were merged to form the Commune nouvelle Saint Martin la Pallu and have the status of a Commune déléguée there . The administrative headquarters are in Vendeuvre-du-Poitou.

geography

Blaslay is about 18 kilometers north-northwest of Poitiers . The Palu flows through the former municipal area . The municipality of Blaslay was surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Thurageau in the north, Cheneché in the east, Chabournay in the southeast, Neuville-de-Poitou in the south, Charrais in the southwest, Champigny-le-Sec (today: Champigny en Rochereau ) in the west, Amberre in the west and north-west and Varennes in the north-west.

The former Route nationale 747 (today's D347) leads through the former municipal area .
