On January 1, 2017, the municipality of Le Rochereau merged with Champigny-le-Sec to form the new municipality of Champigny en Rochereau. The municipality of Le Rochereau was part of the Arrondissement of Poitiers and the canton of Vouneuil-sous-Biard (until 2015: canton of Vouillé ).
