Karoline Zeisler

Karoline Zeisler (* 1944 in Lower Austria ) is an Austrian actress .

Life

Zeisler completed her acting training at the Horak Conservatory in Vienna . She had numerous theater engagements on stages in Austria and Germany . She played u. a. at the Theater am Börseplatz in Vienna (1968), at the Theater der Jugend Wien (1969), at the Schauspielhaus Cologne (1970) and at the Schauspielhaus Dortmund (1971). This was followed by several permanent engagements at the United Theaters in Wuppertal (1972), at the Stadttheater Würzburg (1972–1974) and at the Karlsruhe State Theater (1974–1979). From 1980 to 1984 she was part of the ensemble of the Hamburg Thalia Theater . In the 1985/86 season she was a guest at the Goethe Theater in Frankfurt. From 1987 to 1989 she was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Stadttheater Ingolstadt . From 1990 she worked as a freelance actress in Austria. In the 2004/05 season she had a guest engagement at the Theater in der Josefstadt in Vienna. She appeared in the Nestroy poses Kampl in the two roles Frau von Sibling / Frau Wilker.

Zeisler also took on a few film roles since the 1980s. However, the focus of her artistic activity was still theater work. In the Austrian television film Egon Schiele (1980) she portrayed Egon Schiele's lover and partner Wally Neuzil . In the film Geboren in Absurdistan (1999) she played the role of sister Siglinde. She played an elderly nurse who accidentally swapped the two newborns of an Austrian and a Turkish family.

She also had recurring supporting roles in the television series Der Salzbaron (1994; as Anna Hopfinger) and Kaisermühlen Blues (2000; as Mrs. Karoline Haydn, the new neighbor in the community housing).

In the historical drama Die Seelen im Feuer (2014/2015), based on the novel of the same name by Sabine Weigand , she played the role of Margarethe Reuss. She was an old market trader who lovingly raises her granddaughter, is innocently suspected of witchcraft, and is ultimately burned at the stake . In the 13th season of the Austrian TV series SOKO Donau (2018), she had one of the episode roles as the mentally confused neighbor Ms. Harder.

Zeisler lives in Vienna.
