The inhabitants are called Maillois .

Saint-Pierre-de-Maillé is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Vicq-sur-Gartempe in the north, Angles-sur-l'Anglin in the north and northeast, Mérigny in the east and southeast, Nalliers in the south and southeast, La Bussière in the south, La Puye in the southwest, Archigny in the west and Pleumartin in the northwest.
