Sommières-du-Clain is a French municipality with 788 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Vienne in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Poitou-Charentes ). It belongs to the arrondissement of Montmorillon and the canton of Civray (until 2015: canton of Gençay ). The inhabitants are called Sommiérois .

Sommières-du-Clain is located about 39 kilometers south of Poitiers on the Clain . Sommières-du-Clain is surrounded by the neighboring communities of La Ferrière-Arioux in the north and north-east, Château-Garnier in the east and south-east, Saint-Romain in the south, Romagne in the west and south-west and Champagné-Saint-Hilaire in the north-west.
