Usson-du-Poitou is a French commune with 1,260 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Vienne in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine . It belongs to the arrondissement of Montmorillon and the canton of Lussac-les-Châteaux (until 2015: canton of Gençay ). The inhabitants are called Ussonnais .

Usson-du-Poitou is about 36 kilometers south-southeast of Poitiers on the Clouère . Usson-du-Poitou is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Saint-Secondin in the north and north-west, Bouresse in the north and north-east, Queaux in the east, Le Vigeant in the south-east, Saint-Martin-l'Ars in the south, Payroux in the south-west and Château-Garnier in the west and southwest.
