Saint-Etienne-d'Orthe ( Occitan Sent Estiene ) is a French municipality with 704 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of land in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016 Aquitaine ) in southwestern France. It belongs to the Arrondissement of Dax and the canton of Orthe et Arrigans (until 2015 Peyrehorade ). The inhabitants are called Stéphanois .

geography

Saint-Étienne-d'Orthe is located about 24 kilometers northeast of Bayonne and about 21 kilometers southwest of Dax on the Adour , which borders the municipality in the west. Neighboring communities are Pey in the north and north-west, Orist in the north-east, Port-de-Lanne in the south and east, Sainte-Marie-de-Gosse in the south-west, Saint-Martin-de-Hinx in the west and Saint-Jean-de-Marsacq in the Northwest.
