Siest ( Occitan : siest ) is a French municipality with 138 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of land in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Aquitaine ). Siest belongs to the arrondissement of Dax and the canton of Dax-1 (until 2015: canton of Dax-Sud ).
geography
Siest is about nine kilometers southwest of the city center of Dax in the Marensin countryside . The Luy limits the municipality in the north, which flows into the Adour there . Siest is surrounded by the neighboring communities Tercis-les-Bains in the north, Heugas in the east, Saint-Lon-les-Mines in the south, Orist in the west and Rivière-Saas-et-Gourby in the north-west.
