The canton DAX Sud was 2015 a French constituency in the district Dax , in the Landes department and in the region of Aquitaine . Gabriel Bellocq ( PS ) was last representative in the General Council of the Département from 2001 to 2015 .

history

The canton was founded on March 4, 1790 as part of the establishment of the départements as part of what was then the "Dax District".

With the founding of the arrondissements on February 17, 1800, the canton was redesigned as part of what was then the Dax arrondissement.

geography

The canton bordered in the north on the canton Dax-Nord , in the east on the canton Montfort-en-Chalosse , in the south on the cantons Pouillon and Peyrehorade and in the west on the canton Soustons .
