The canton Mimizan was 2015 a French constituency in the district of Mont-de-Marsan in the Landes department and in the region of Aquitaine .

history

The canton was founded on March 4, 1790 as part of the establishment of the departments as part of what was then the "District of Mont-de-Marsan". With the establishment of the arrondissements on February 17, 1800, the canton was redesigned as part of what was then the arrondissement of Mont-de-Marsan. The canton bordered in the north on the canton Parentis-en-Born , in the east on the canton Sabers , in the southeast on the canton Morcenx , in the south on the canton Castets in the Arrondissement Dax and in the west on the Atlantic Ocean ( Bay of Biscay ).
