The canton Hagetmau was 2015 a French constituency in the district of Mont-de-Marsan in the Landes department in the region of Aquitaine . The canton bordered the canton of Saint-Sever in the north, the cantons Aire-sur-l´Adour and Geaune in the east, and the cantons Arzacq-Arraziguet and Arthez-de-Béarn in the Pau district in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department in the south , and in the west to the cantons of Amou and Mugron in the arrondissement of Dax.
history
The canton was founded on March 4, 1790 as part of the establishment of the départements as part of what was then the "District of Saint-Sever". With the establishment of the arrondissements on February 17, 1800, the canton was redesigned as part of what was then the arrondissement of Saint-Sever. With the dissolution of the Arrondissement Saint-Sever on September 10, 1926, the canton was integrated into the Arrondissement Mont-de-Marsan.
