The canton Pouillon was 2015 a constituency in the district Dax in the Landes department in the region of Aquitaine in France . Yves Lahoun ( PCF ) was the last representative in the General Council of the Department from 2001 to 2015 .

The canton bordered the canton Dax-Sud in the north, the canton Montfort-en-Chalosse in the north-east, the canton Amou in the east, and the cantons Orthez and Salies-de-Béarn in the Pau arrondissement in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques department in the south and in the west to the canton of Peyrehorade .

history

The canton was founded on March 4, 1790 as part of the establishment of the départements as part of what was then the "Dax District". With the founding of the arrondissements on February 17, 1800, the canton was redesigned as part of what was then the Dax arrondissement.
