The Canton Mugron was 2015 a French constituency in the district Dax , in the Landes department and in the region of Aquitaine .

history

The canton was founded on March 4, 1790 as part of the establishment of the départements as part of what was then the "District of Saint-Sever".

With the establishment of the arrondissements on February 17, 1800, the canton was redesigned as part of what was then the arrondissement of Saint-Sever.

With the dissolution of the Arrondissement Saint-Sever on September 10, 1926, the canton was integrated into the Arrondissement Dax.

geography

The canton bordered the canton Tartas-Est in the north, the cantons Saint-Sever and Hagetmau in the arrondissement of Mont-de-Marsan in the east, the canton Amou in the south and the canton Montfort-en-Chalosse in the west .
