Rion-des-Landes ( Occitan : Arrion ) is a French commune with 2,986 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Landes department of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region . It belongs to the Arrondissement Dax and the canton Pays Morcenais Tarusate (until 2015: Canton Tartas-Ouest ).
It was created with effect from January 1, 2017 as Commune nouvelle of the same name by amalgamating the previously independent municipalities of Rion-des-Landes and Boos , which from now on have the status of Communes déléguées . The administrative headquarters are located in Rion-des-Landes.

Rion-des-Landes is located approx. 27 km northeast of Dax in the historic province of Gascogne on the Retjons , a tributary of the Midouze .
